SATREPS-OPT

SATREPS (Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development) was established by the Japanese government to encourage global collaboration in research. The programme focuses on the needs of developing countries and aims to produce research outcomes that are practical and will benefit both local and global society. The purpose of this international collaboration between Malaysia and Japan is to add value to Oil Palm Trunks (OPT) through scientific and technological innovation to achieve sustainable oil palm plantation farming.

RIKEN

USM-RIKEN Interdisciplinary Collaboration for Advanced Sciences (URICAS) was founded by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and RIKEN, Japan with the aim to conduct interdisciplinary research. This collaborative programme develops and provides a platform as well as opportunities for young researchers from both Malaysia and Japan to be involved in the research of advanced sciences.

Asian Program Associate (APA), Joint Graduate Program was established to identify and foster talented young scientists capable of contributing to future research collaborations between USM and RIKEN.

Riken Yokohama campus

Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), a Japanese national university located in Kansai Science City, aims to perform cutting-edge research in frontier areas and to prepare students to lead in science and technology in the near future. NAIST Student Exchange Programs offer the opportunity to graduate school students around the world to further their research studies in NAIST. Students from partner institutions are welcome to receive research guidance in NAIST as Special Research Students (graduate school student level).
