Research Title: Expression of Polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) Biosynthetic Genes in Hevea Tissue Culture


Having done his internship and final year project in Ecobiomaterial Research Laboratory, Lim Kok Ming received his Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Biotechnology) degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia along with the USM Gold Medal award for Best Final Year Student in Applied Sciences in 2013. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D under the supervision of Professor Dr. K. Sudesh Kumar. His project is focused on the expression of PHA biosynthetic genes in rubber tissue culture. He intends to create transgenic rubber tree capable of co-synthesizing rubber and PHA, producing a rubber/PHA blend with unique property.
